I work as a senior technician repairing industrial laundry equipment.

The aim of this page is to describe the type of work that I do and also to provide an online resource for other laundry technicians.

Laundry equipment requires multi-skilled technicians as maintenance involves a combination of electrical and mechanical work, gas (CORGI registered) and steam fitting, plumbing, and diagnostic skills. We work from home, collecting our breakdown calls and ordering parts by mobile phone, although we are soon to adopt an automated system using PDA's. The equipment that we work on is manufactured in Sweden, Denmark and France, and we occasionally visit these countries for training.
